Citizens Of Contrary Knowledge

Harlem, New York’s Indie rockers, Citizens Of Contrary Knowledge, are a band of four journeyman musicians poised to burst onto the national scene with their latest independent release, Contrary Radio, an eclectic amalgam of Rock, Funk, Blues, Progressive and Modern Rock that the band has coined, “Harlem Soul Rock-n-Roll”. Most recently voted a Top 5 Best Independent Artist of 2009 by Internet Radio Magazine, the band has earned impressive Indie success with the licensing of their first release entitled, You’re What You Wish You Are..., to Showtime network which featured the haunting song, “House of Cards”, in the minute and a half promotional trailer for the second season of its hit series, “The Tudors”. The band also licensed You’re What You Wish You Are... to the hugely popular Nickelodeon shows, “Drake and Josh” and “Zoey 101”, as well as to College Sports TV, and several singles from the CD played in heavy rotation on college and internet radio. The band has also placed music in several short films released by Alpha and Omega Films, and this past November, the band won the New Jersey Nets Battle of the Bands contest and performed at the Izod Arena in front of a crowd of 16,000 people.
