About Cristal Marie
An independent artist, Cristal Marie is mostly known for singing the title song of TELEMUNDO’s “Pecados Ajenos” (The Sins of Others) and being one of the top ten finalists of Santo Domingo’s “Songwriter’s Festival” with the song “Mariposas” (Butterflies), a song written, composed and performed by her, aimed at supporting the fight against Domestic Violence. With only two years and two albums on her belt, she’s been nominated twice for “Singer of The Year” at the Casandra Awards (The equivalent of a Grammy Award in the Dominican Republic) and was the youngest finalist for the title of “Woman of The Year 2008” from Diario Libre.
Cristal Marie studied Performance at Berklee College of Music, where she obtained a Music Business Specialist Degree. She’s also known for singing in various languages: Spanish, English, French, Italian, Portuguese, Finnish and Japanese. Early in life she studied piano, guitar, flute, ballet, theater, tropical dance, modern dance and vocal instruction with some of the best soprano and choir directors of Dominican Republic, and The United States of America. Her music Godfathers are Maestro Jorge Taveras and Merengue legend Mr. Jhonny Ventura. Among the artists she’s performed on stage with are: Armando Manzanero, Maridalia Hernandez and Adalgisa Pantaleon (Juan Luis Guerra 440). She’s also opened for Ricardo Montaner and Alejandro Fernandez; this last performance was featured on Primer Impacto UNIVISION, where she was quoted as being “The Next Latin Pop Queen”.
Discover her latest album “CRISTAL”, produced by ASCAP Award Winner and internationally acclaimed Roy Tavare (Ricky Martin, Roselyn Sanchez, Ednita Nazario) and mixed by Estefano’s Production Group at Midnight Blue Studios (Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony, Chayanne). Her first single “Tu Y Yo” peaked at #80 on the Latin Billboard Charts. She is now a voting member of the Grammy Awards.
