About David Davies

David davies is a multi-dimensional musician/artist. His wonderfully diverse collection of origional songs express a kaleidoscope of feelings from humour to sorrow, from deep love to dissapointment, sadness to hope and happiness. Many of his songs have a distinct political message, expressing his views on peace, environment and social justice. Essentially he is a visual lyricist, conjuring images vocally and backing them with strong rythymns from guitar, keyboard, harmonica and percussion. Dave is a colourfull character, whose music career began when, as a young man, he took to the streets armed with he's unique voice and acoustic guitar, he's harmonica and a swag full of origional songs. It wasn't long before he had aquired a band and was performing regularly in the hothouse environment of the Sydney pub scene. Leaving the city, David 'went bush' and for a few years performed solo or duo with partner, Genevieve, often travelling and always writing new material. Fifteen years ago, the Gypsy Rollers Puppet Theatre was created by David and Genevieve. Together they have written 22 different shows. The shows are musical plays, with lots of comedy, audience interaction and origional songs. The Gypsy Rollers Puppet Theatre performs regularly, and has a cd in the making. David's solo cd has recently been released in october 2009, with the aim of breaking into the music landscape locally, nationally and internationally...
