About GroovProject

This soul,jazz band combines heavy bass lines and melodic overtones with a touch of smoothness and rhythm. The band appears in several local hot-spots all-over Atlanta, GroovProject is one of the most-sought after independent jazz artists in the area. Born into a musical family in Kingston, New York, Donovan "Groov" Henderson, started his career as soon as his motor skills would let him- he was last in his line to play drums. All of his cousins were either singing in choir or playing an instrument and one of his uncles, Tony Lindsay, is the lead vocalist for Grammy-award winning, Carlos Santana, for over 15 years. Also the other band mate is Reggie "Fro" Carter, who was born in Washington DC and have been playing since he was 17. Some of his greatest influences are George Duke, Geoff Keezer, and Thomas Whitfield, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Robert Glasper, Joe "Flip Wilson, Hiromi and J.S Bach to name a few.
