About Preston Lux
PRESTON LUX
Born in Greenville, Mississippi and raised on the West Coast. A young man named Preston Lux was introduced to the world of performing arts. Preston quickly took the que to become lead drummer of the drum section of John Muir High School Marching Mustang Band. ( Official Rose Parade Band).
Preston moved on to co-form the Essence Of Time (Junior Temptations) song and dance group of Pasadena, Calif., and Splendor (vocal duo) out of Seattle, Washington.
Back in Pasadena for the Bi-Centennial Performing Arts celebration, Preston worked with Sherry Scott of the original Earth Wind and Fire Group. Preston co-wrote with Sherry a tune for the bi-centennial entitled “Pasadena”.
The Artist named Jewell Akins of the “Let Me Tell You Bout The Birds And The Bees” Hit met Preston at his home and recruited him to be one of his four backup singers. Needless to say Preston went national. but this time not only as a song and dance member of Jewell's Team, but also as music director.
Some of the memorable spots travelled were King Of Prussia, Penn, Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket Island, Aspen, Miami Beach, fort Smith, and Topeka-kansas.
Today, now residing in Florida, Preston is still into the music scene, putting to good use his years of singing, writing, percussion and keyboard experiences and additional expertise of his daughter Rachel israel on keyboards and Ms Michelle Lamb formerly keyboards and vocals of the ISAAC HAYES BAND on keyboards on Katrina Album, and now the Album Going Home.
