About Princess Joy
Joy was born on March 15th, 1991 in Lesotho, but raised in the UK. The youngest of four sisters and brothers, Joy has always been an over-achiever who excelled academically while competing in several sports. She managed to win over 20 gold medals at a high level of athletics; captain Southampton Girls Centre of Excellence Football Club; win the Centre of Excellence Girls Football League twice; win Dana Cup; represent Chelsea Ladies FC; create, fund and manage a girls/women's football team, get third prize award for both Wiltshire's Young Achiever of the Year award and Sports Person of the Year award.
At the tender age of 16, Joy left home to play for Bristol Ladies Football Club. Whilst being away from home she learnt a few valuable lessons about life. Her most valuable lesson was that life is too short. It was then that she began to realise that she was chasing the wrong dream. Despite her successes in sport, her true calling as a prolific song writer and talented singer drew her away from both the field and the classroom. She says " The moment I saw Ciara live in Cardiff, was the moment I knew that this was what I wanted to do. I have always had love for music but never thought I could make it. " It is evident that Ciara inspires Joy in more ways than one.
Although Joy lacks experience and training, Joy has worked really hard to turn this dream into a reality. Aware of the growing internet market, she posted all her work to reach people from all over the world. Within a couple of months, Joy became lead singer of a gospel choir and reached the quarter finals of televised talent competition, Britain's Next Urban Superstar. In 2009, Joy was happy to be a semi finalist of national talent competition Live and Unsigned. Joy is now working as a song writer with producers from all over the world. Despite the fact she's busy trying to build a steady career in music, she makes the time to run dance classes to give others the opportunity to do what they enjoy.
Joy's strong relationship with God, her family and close friends enable her to stay grounded and remember what's important. Joy has a part time job at a care home working with people with severe disabilities. Joy explains " It's very easy to take the life you live for granted and waste the opportunities that come your way. My care work constantly reminds me how lucky I am to do what I do. It may not be as flashy as my music or modelling, but I get the chance to make a difference to someone's life. I can't explain how satisfying that is. "
Joy is currently in full time education at South Wilts Grammar School for Girls studying Biology, Business Studies, Maths & IT. She is hoping to study International Business & Music Management at the European School of Economics after her A levels.
