About RocOneMusic
Who ever said Music has rules? Who ever said Music has limits? “Music can be the sound of a G6 jet flying over-head if it is perceived correctly”, says the 27 yr-old producer/artist/actor See One.
A “sunny” South Dallas, TX native, Corey Ward, born September 27, 1982 began his career in music from conception. His father, a famed bassist who has played with the likes of Lakeside, Lenny Williams, Yarbrough & Peoples, as well as many others began his career as a musician at an early age by making his own bass guitar.
From his earliest memory, See One would sit in the garage of their South Dallas home while his dad and his band would practice for hours and hours on a daily basis until mom would come get him for bedtime. It was an evening routine. At the young age of 6, See One excelled as a 4-star athlete which included Soccer, Football, Basketball, and Baseball. But when his sporting event was over for the day, he would come home to the music of his mother and father blasting their 12” vinyl records which included all genres of music. This prompted the young music/sports guru to borrow his father’s Roger and Zapp record and began pretending he was a DJ. “I will never forget my favorite song to scratch was “Doo-Wa-Ditty”, he recalls. During his adolescent years, See One went on to pitch a no-hitter in the Little League World Series playing along side now famed outfielder for the Toronto Blue Jays, Vernon Wells and Texas Rangers pitcher Jason Jennings. Soon after, See One was selected to play a small role in the feature film “Problem Child” in which he began his acting career. “Being in that movie really opened doors for me as a person. I really started to feel as if I was a celebrity”, One says. At the young age of 16, his father gave him his first taste of real music production by giving him an Ensoniq SQ1-Plus. See One was instantly hooked by producing his first ever track on the spot. He went on to get drafted in baseball out of high school by the New York Yankees but later on to play few years with the Cincinnati Reds. All the while See One still kept his love for music producing songs after games and surprising his teammates with his talents.
See One has always considered his music as “ethereal” and “airy”. He ventures anywhere from Hip Hop, Pop, Hard Rock, R&B, to Alternative, Electronic, New Age, all the way to Easy Listening. “I have never put any titles on the sounds I come up with after making a track”, One recently quoted.
He has worked with many artists out of the Dallas/Fort Worth area and looking to venture out and expand his sounds to artists throughout the world who are looking for something different. It is never known what See One is creating next when he gets into the studio.
It is obvious See One is expecting to change what people hear with his unorthodox style and his unique sense of musical tastes. “I want to change Music”, One recently stated. “I want to break the rules”. It should not be a difficult task for this once professional ball player and movie actor. “Professionalism is of the essence in my world”, he says.
