About SilenceTheCity
Formed in July 2008, Auckland based Silence The City, a high-energy rock band, has steadily gained momentum and fully submersed themselves in everything that is music. What started out as a love for writing music blossomed into a passion and these four friends have set out to create music that is both full of energy and emotion.
Adam, Justin and Chris hail from Napier, from where they ventured up to Auckland to study at various universities. They had all played in a band together prior to Silence the City. During their studies they were introduced to Daniel through a mutual friend and formed an instant friendship. From their very first jam they knew they had a winning formula and have continued to strive to move forward ever since.
Since forming Silence The City, these four mates have continued to grow as musicians and friends. This is mainly due to the fact that they are all on the same wavelength and are very driven to meet the goals they set. They have established a sound that is very unique and as a result are constantly told they do not sound like any other band in their genre.
In July 2009 they decided it was time to make their mark on the music scene and booked into York Street to record their first single “The Hardest Part”. The band were fortunate enough to have Hook from 48 May on board producing their song. The song made its debut on The Edge 94.2 FM Night Show on Wednesday 9th September 2009.
Everyone should be prepared to hear a lot more from these boys because the Silence is coming.
