About Slated For Doomsday Music
James Pruitt has been an electronic music producer for over 20 years. At a young age he took up the guitar and played in garage and bedroom bands throughout highschool. After listening to Ministry's 'Land of Rape and Honey' he traded the guitar for a Mirage Sampler. James was also an aspirting audio engineer and used the recording facilities at the local college he was attending to blend both his talent for creating electronic music and music engineering, mixing and mastering.
James has gone through many styles of electronica throughout the years, copying genre styles and experimenting outside the box. These styles included Industrial, EBM, breakbeat, techno, acid, jungle/DNB and most recently Dubstep and Minimal House. All of these styles have stuck and are mixed and mashed throughout tracks to this day. He still maintains his early industrial roots.
He has primarily been a solo producer but formed a band in Houston with David Williams for form AR3A in 1991. David Williams is now AR3A, but both get together to collaborate on work through the magic of the internet.
For years, James attempted to submit demos to the same major labels has those artists who inspired with the deafning results of slience.
He soon realized it wasn't the music itself that gets labels' attention but the art of salesmanship. James realized he was not a salesman. He then realized the reason he wrote music was not for the general masses, but for himself and has been content with that to this day.
However, with the super speed of advancement in personal computing and the internet, he and millions of independent musicians have found a new avenue in sharing their productions with everyone.
So, the story continues......
