About The Cliffhangers

The Cliffhangers formed in 2009, and is comprised of musicians with great experience and of high standard.

Lead vocalist and guitarist, SHARON CLIFTON, composer of band’s present repertoire, has performed
the Cape Town cover circuit over the years at well-known venues as a soloist and is also member of local cover band, Tuxedo. She also does jingles and voice overs .In 2009, Sharon finally unleashed her passion in songwriting by performing her own compositions at live venues such as Villa Pascal Bistro, Fogey’s,The Zulu Lounge and The Barleycorn Club. Sharon has 2 albums to her credit, namely, DIAMONDS IN THE RAIN
and STILL.

“Cuz”GREG CLIFTON on keyboard and vocals,is also a songwriter and a member of local cover outfit, Late Final.
He has performed at many well-known venues. Multi-talented Greg records and has contributed to
many ‘jingles’ as well as albums. He has also been in well-known cover bands,namely Hard Ride,
and Sudan, and has also performed with international star, Randy Crawford.

Well- studied and known,Kevin Gibson, is drummer.He has performed,recorded and travelled with various local
and visiting musicians. To name but a few: Darius Brubeck Johnny Clegg, Johnny Fourie, Jackson Browne, Winston
Mankunku, Herb Ellis, Koos Kombuis. Kevin also taught at UCT for four years.

Talented bassist, vocalist, Jeanne van der Merwe, studied music at Stellenbosch University, and has been
a member of bands, such as The symphonic rock band, Immortal, cover band, Seven and is currently
a member of the Cape Town Pink Floyd tribute outfit, Floydian Slips.

Well studied violinist, Elina Koytcheva hails from Bulgaria! She has played and recorded with many
different orchestras in the Netherlands .Elina freelances in many bands and quartets locally.
What a find!

The Cliffhanger’s had their first gig at Die Plaastheater, a well-known original venue,and were
well received. They look forward to rocking the people at the annual Champagne and Oyster Festival
at Bloemendal Wine Estate on the 3rd and 4th April!
