About The Lydian String

Working from a hand picked pool of around one hundred of the best young freelancers sourced from London & the whole of Europe, The Lydian String comprises musicians from all the major London Orchestras.
Since 1995, they have been providing music for situations that range from prestige concert recitals to corporate entertainment, wedding receptions & private parties.

The scale of the group means they are able to supply anything from solo instrumentalists & string quartets to chamber orchestras from an experienced player base that is as familiar with studio sessions as it is with live performance.

Beyond that, all their work is underpinned by a significant & unique charitable ethos. In 2001, following the cancer related deaths of five family members, The Lydian String committed to a continuous programme of fundraising for cancer charities. Each year, they raise £10,000 - £15,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support - since 2001, they have raised in excess of £90,000.
