Daniel x is the experimental creation of the artist Daniel Kimbrough.Daniel Kimbrough is a self taught artist and musician who is a well known for his affiliation with The world reknowned Museum The Menil Collection.As a surrealist Mr.Kimbrough's work was represented by The Menil Collection for 10 years making him the longest local artist in Houston represented by the collection.He was named artist of the year by the collection in 2008.Daniel Kimbrough is also the arthor of his own artbook titled "CYBERORGANICFETISHES"which can be viewed at this link. http://www.blurb.com/bookstore/detail/297632
His work as a painter lead Mr.Kimbrough into music composition using it as a vehicle to greater express himself thru the medium of sound thus creating a submersion effect for the viewers and patrons of his work.Using sound bites composed mostly from his voice, Daniel munipulates the sound bites into beats,loops,and ambient effects to create a unique haunting musical experience.Presently Mr. Kimbrough has been focusing entirely on music composition as his main artistic medium.He currently resides in Houston,Texas where he cohabitates with his black cat Vladimer and his turantula Sircy.
